Flat light, old trees, hard rocks

We drove north to the edge of pre-cambrian shield country.  The light was extremely flat.  There is always a contrast in this landscape with rocks and trees so if one can find an interesting composition, it can work.

One of these looks like Lakefield, Paul? I love the flat light! I spent some many summers canoeing around the Kawartha Lakes, Stoney Lake mostly and these fine photos brought the sights and sounds --- and the hint of pine, cedar, and juniper back to me. And there is a scent to hot granite in the sun too....bless yah, good sir!
