It was a memorable spring of spectacular floods. Water threatened to invade places usually reserved for human habitation. Giant trees, roots and all rushed down the river a few months ago.
Lingering memories; One such tree is still hung up on the dam, it's entire root system spread from buttress to buttress like an octopus that just won't let go. The receding water has left it high and nearly dry.
Obviously, the flood waters washed out the bank and rushed the tree, roots and all with it down river.
Now it is bleached and dried and hanging there upside down.
